The Reality of Intermittent Indian Mobile Networks

In field sales, delivery logistics, and industrial warehouses, mobile signal frequently drops. Apps that freeze or display "Network Error" modals lose critical customer orders and frustrate staff.

The Local-First Database Pattern

In offline-first architecture, the UI never interacts with remote network endpoints directly. All reads and writes target local storage (Hive or SQLite):

  1. User creates an invoice or logs a visit. Data is saved locally in 5 milliseconds. UI updates immediately.
  2. An append-only Sync Transaction Queue records the payload with an ISO timestamp and UUID.
  3. A background network listener detects active internet and dispatches queue batches to the Laravel REST API backend.
  4. The backend applies Last-Write-Wins or vector clocks to resolve potential conflict scenarios smoothly.
